Plastics and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA) is the voice of the plastics, chemicals, adhesives and sealants industries in Australia. PACIA is closely associated with PIPA. From an industry group of PACIA, PIPA grew into an independent association, but has not severed its ties to PACIA.
Vinyl Council of Australia was established in 1998 to strengthen and enhance the sustainability of the Australian PVC industry through the dissemination of information, research, representation and promotion.
Plastics New Zealand, is an industry group affiliated to the Manufacturers Federation of New Zealand, with the role of co-ordinating responses and initiatives to facilitate the continuing development of its membership, and the industry at large. Plastics New Zealand undertakes liaison with government on a wide range of issues, sponsors the Plastics Industry Training Organisation, co-ordinates certain industrial relations matters, and undertakes environmental work through its environmental arm, the Plastics Environmental and Advisory Council and the Plastics Foundation for Environmental Research.
Uni-Bell PVC Pipe Association is a non-profit, technical, educational and research oriented organization, based in USA, to service the PVC pipe and fittings industry. Uni-Bell has developed useful technical literature and recommended standards recognized around the world, and these can be found on their web site. The Uni-Bell Handbook of PVC Pipe Design and Construction is without question the most comprehensive text on PVC pipe and fittings to be found anywhere.
The Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc. (PPI) is the major trade association representing all segments of the plastics piping industry in USA. PPI members share a common interest in broadening market opportunities that make effective use of plastics piping for water and gas distribution, sewer and wastewater, oil and gas production, industrial and mining uses, power and communications duct and irrigation.
Standards Australia may be referenced by linking to Standards Australia OnLine where AS, AS/NZS and ISO publications are available.
Standards New Zealand is the trading arm of the Standards Council, a crown entity operating under the Standards Act 1988. NZS and AS/NZS standards may be found on the website.
Manufacturing Learning Australia (MLA) is the national industry training body representing the process manufacturing industries. Further information may be found on their website.
National Training Information Service include on the NTIS web site details of Competency Standards developed by industry. The standards are linked to industry sectors and courses, where the course has been based on the standards.
Australian National Training Authority, ANTA is a Commonwealth Statutory Authority responsible for the development of a national vocational education and training system in cooperation with State and Territory Governments, the Commonwealth Government and industry. The ANTA Web site provides information on a range of current VET issues, developments, events, publications and contacts in the VET sector.
PE100+ Association was formed in 1999 by a number of polyethylene manufacturers with the objective to guarantee consistent quality at the highest level in the production and use of PE 100 pipe materials. The Positive List of Materials is published on the asssociation's web site on a regular basis.
PVC4Pipes is an association founded in Brussels in 2003 with the mission of developing and promoting sustainable PVC piping systems in the global market. On the technical side the organisation is working to harmonise pipe standards, in particular as part of the development of PVC pipes made of recycled material. On the communication front PVC4Pipes is working to provide the latest information on PVC Pipes in exhibitions, seminars and conferences and to make it available to our specifiers, decision makers, and stakeholders.
ASSOCOMAPLAST represents companies in the Italian plastics and rubber machinery, ancillary equipment and moulds manufacturers. Its main aim is to promote the knowledge and the circulation of the plastics and rubber processing technologies on the Italian and foreign markets. Through commercial companies PROMAPLAST and CESAP, ASSOCOMAPLAST publishes technical magazines and provides technical support for research and development respectively. ASSOCOMAPLAST is involved in UNI (Italian Institute for Standardization), which draws up European safety standards for plastics and rubber machinery.
Kunststoffrohrverbandes KRV: Plastic tube federation (KRV) and quality community of plastic tubes (GKR) in Germany provides technical information about plastic pipes on their web site in the German language. Using Google search for "www.krv.de", it is possible to get instantaneous translation of most of the pages but not all the download papers.
PARTEC, Plastic and Rubber Technical Education Centre, is one of the Asia Pacific region's leading plastics industry training and education facilities. Based in Brisbane this facility offers plastics employee development programmes. Because PARTEC was established by the plastics industry to provide education and training for the growth of the industry, students from PARTEC complete their courses and hold positions of responsibility and trust in the industry.
The Department of Land and Water Conservation (DLWC) is a NSW government agency accountable to the NSW Parliament through the Minister for Land and Water Conservation. They were established in 1995 to integrate the management of the land, water, vegetation and coastal resources of NSW. We all believe in 'working together to achieve healthy and productive environments for present and future generations'.
Plastics News International is a monthly publication for the Australian Plastics Industry providing the latest news, events and trends.   Its web site is an on line companion to the magazine, offering information, services, and data to download. Reference to PVC and polyolefin pipes may be readily found.
